Crazy in love?
So, if you are a pastor or leader, and you are trying to figure out why someone else's ministry seems to be doing better than yours, ask your self: "Am I crazy in love with Jesus?" You know the kind of in love I mean. You can't wait to see Him, You can't wait to read His letter to you, You can't keep yourself from talking about Him to your friends, family, total strangers, because you are so completely head over heals in love with Him that it is impossible to think of a subject you would rather think about or talk about or dream about than Jesus Christ your Lord and Savior. If you can say that about yourself without any hesitation (and you aren't lying...which would be some kind of weird, given the topic) then you are where God wants you even if your ministry doesn't seem to be heading for mega-church status anytime soon. People who are crazy in love with Jesus are contagious! If you aren't, find someone who is and work with them. If I am right, and it is contagious, then you will soon catch it! People who are 100% sold out for God are awesome witnesses! So get a little Crazy in Love!

Amen... in the words of the old Christian Spiritual...Love God... Hate Sin... I think an even more powerful witness is that even rarer Christian who not only genuinely loves God... but is also genuinely convinced that God loves them. Such a lifestyle brings wonderous personal healing and freedom to witness. Tony Campolo used to say... If God has a wallet... my picture is in it. Such a viewpoint of the love of God for us as individuals is transforming... not only to that individual but to everyone around them as well. However I don't think either of these has anything to do with growing a church or becomming a mega-church, so much as the sovereignty of God influences such things. I often like to look at the example of Jeremiah... he did not have many follower it seems, he did not grow a mega-church, in fact at the end of his ministry... his congregants were militarily defeated by their enemies and taken into captivity. Yet a more faithful servant you would be hard pressed to find. Why is the goal to grow mega-churches? Why isn't the goal to simply be obedient and faithful to the task set before us in the here and now?
